Aortic valve stenosis is a progressive heart disorder wherein the aortic valve constricts, preventing the orderly outflow of blood from the heart to the entire body. It causes some resistance to heart function, and as this resistance builds up, patients begin developing symptoms such as angina, dyspnea, syncope, and sometimes even heart failure.
